Brazil's national squad has reached the 2018 FIFA World Cup Round of 16 with the first place in Group E. Brazil defeated Serbia's team 2-0 in a group stage match on Wednesday.
The goals were scored by Paulinho (36th minute) and Thiago Silva (68th minute).
The two teams played against each two times during Serbia's contemporary history, with Brazil securing the second win. Taking into account the Yugoslav team's matches, the two national squads faced each other twelve times, and the Serbs lost for the 10th time with two victories.
Brazil's national team earned seven points becoming Group E winner. They are set to play their next match against Mexico in Samara on July 2. Switzerland will face Sweden in St. Petersburg on July 3.
